UNA-USA National Global Goals Ambassador Program Application 2020-2021
The UNA-USA Global Goals Ambassador Program is an opportunity for UNA-USA members to take their passion about a particular UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) and to leverage it to develop related programming and communications at the national level.
As a yearlong fellowship opportunity, the selected Ambassadors will work alongside UNA-USA staff and other volunteer leaders to ensure promotion of the 17 SDGs through blog posts and UNA Forum articles, attendance and representation at events, and creation of national events. Up to TWO (2) UNA-USA members can represent each of the 17 SDGs in a given cohort.
This is a high level commitment and a great opportunity to refine both personal and professional skills while upholding and supporting the UN's Global Goals.
Please take time to complete this application as writing skills are critical for success in this program, and will be a factor when selecting finalists.
The deadline for submission is 8:00 am ET on Tuesday, September 8. No late applications will be accepted. The selection committee reserves the right to choose Ambassadors to represent a diversity in location, experience, age, and other determinants.
UNA member in good standing for 1+ year
Exhibited active interest and conducted activities related to a particular SDG on local level
Willing to meet all deliverables on schedule
Able to attend a minimum of 75% of monthly cohort meetings live
Deliverables and Responsibilities:
Attend event during Global Goals Week and author a blog post - 500 words - about event from assigned SDG perspective
Participate in the planning of a GEOS session (working in collaboration with UNA-USA staff) either through submitting an idea, developing the event format, suggesting/connecting prospective speakers, serving as moderator/presenter, and/or promoting the event
Present virtually to UNA-USA chapters as availability/interest provides
Contribute monthly to conversations related to their assigned SDG on UNA Forum
Draft social media content related to assigned SDG; minimum of one during Global Goals Week (September
Presentation to National Council and Chapter Leaders during joint call

One of the responsibilities as a Global Goals Ambassador is to collaborate on creating a UNA-USA Global Engagement Online Series (GEOS) program focused around a particular SDG. Explain any and all ideas you have for this program, including format, speakers, etc.
