CEU Community Letter of Solidarity with MTA
The Hungarian Academy of Sciences is facing a reorganization of its financing in a way that threatens the independence of its research and scholarship. The research institutes of the Academy might need funding for their entire budget directly from the Ministry of Innovation and Technology. Such financing scheme would constitute another major threat to academic freedom in Hungary.
