In the first two lessons of this course you have learned of the deep respect we
ought to have for the Word of God and have seen the difference between the Old and
New Testaments. In this lesson another great principle of the Bible will be studied:
the authority of Christ. Notice the following text and Christ’s declaration of His
power or authority:
Matthew 28:18-20 “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, ‘All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye, therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.’”
In the famous 14th chapter of the Book of John, Jesus Christ declared, “I am the
way, the truth, and life; no man comes to the Father, but by me” (John 14:6). In the
scene on the Mount of Transfiguration, God declared that we are to hear and obey
His Son. Study the following Scriptures carefully and you will understand that Christ
has all authority today. He must be heard and obeyed today!
