The goals of the AVID program are college acceptance and college readiness.
Mission Hills AVID Facts:
► Historically, 90% + of Mission Hills High School AVID seniors are accepted to one or more universities
of their choice.
► 100% of the AVID Class of 2022 + 2023 + 2024 were accepted to at least one university.
► 100% of last year’s AVID seniors planned to attend college after high school.
► Historically, AVID seniors are awarded over $1 million in grants and scholarships for their first year of college. The AVID Class of 2023 was awarded $1.23 million in grants and scholarships!
► AVID not only helps students prepare for college but helps students to stand out on a college application.

► Highly Certified AVID Site of Distinction
AVID Student Profile:
► Students should have the potential and the desire to attend a four-year college.
► They must have appropriate classroom behavior.
► Generally their G.P.A. is between 2.5 - 4.0.
► They have regular attendance.
► They have good work habits.
► They are willing to commit themselves to homework each night.
► They are willing to enroll in a rigorous college preparatory sequence of courses.
► AVID includes Emerging Bilingual Students.
