ESCCAP UK & Ireland's Parasite Control Champion of the Year 2026

The ESCCAP UK & Ireland award will be presented annually to an individual who has distinguished themselves by making significant contributions in the field of companion animal parasitology. This exciting development is another step in our ambitious plan to promote greater awareness of veterinary parasitology and encourage more engagement in applied research. Our aim is to change the landscape of parasite control in pet animals through the development of better and more sustainable parasite management solutions.

The nominated candidate must be a veterinary surgeon, a veterinary nurse or other allied professional who has made a significant contribution to companion animal parasitology, for example through the use of novel approaches to practical parasite management, education or pioneering research or development.

Individuals may nominate themselves or be nominated by a veterinary surgeon, veterinary nurse or research parasitologist, along with a nomination statement highlighting how the nominee’s work has led to advances in companion animal parasite control or more sustainable use of parasiticides.

Nominations will be assessed by an awards committee of ESCCAP UK & Ireland members. The committee will be selected and chaired by the head of ESCCAP UK & Ireland and the committee’s verdict will be final.

In addition to being named the "ESCCAP UK & Ireland Parasite Control Champion of the Year", the award winner will be invited to submit an article describing their work to the ESCCAP newsletter and will receive a certificate and £500 in prize money.

Nominations for this year will close on 18th September.
