Lights Out Salt Lake Pledge
Two-thirds of migratory bird species migrate at night. Artificial light at night causes many of these birds to wander off course, get confused by city lights at night, and die in collisions with buildings.

The Lights Out Salt Lake initiative strives to make our city safer for migratory birds by decreasing light pollution.

Participants pledge to turn off all unnecessary lights between the hours of 11pm-6am during peak bird migration times: March-May, and August-October.

*******Once you pledge, remember to pick up your free yard sign at the Aviary!******

Participants may be eligible for activity discounts, awards, and community recognition for their participation. Their names will not be shared with the public, nor any other commercial or private entity, without their express written permission.
