What kind of session are you submitting?  *
What is the name and email address of the central point of contact (the 'session organiser')? *
What organisation are you part of?
If others are involved in the session, please also provide their names and contact emails.
Please give us a one-sentence description of your session. *
What problem in organising does your session address? Can you provide examples of this problem in action?  *
Please explain here how you intend to teach participants to tackle this problem. At the NOC, we encourage forms of learning that go beyond lectures and round-table discussions. Even if you are still working out the details, give us some impression here of the techniques that you might put into play.

This might include:

- Participants recall things they have experienced and reflect on them.

- Participants imagine or simulate the experience they are trying to learn about.

- Participants make something: a piece of writing, a piece of art, etc.

- Participants investigate or research examples of the problem they are learning about.

- Participants dig deeper into the problem to try to figure out what they need to learn.

*Remember that we are offering two zoom sessions, on 13th January (Register here) and 13th February (Register hereat 6pm, to help you work out these things. You are also welcome to message or call Amy on WhatsApp to discuss: +447935259341).

Which people would most benefit from this session?

Can you give an idea of what kind of experience you think people would ideally have in order to benefit most from this session? We may colour-code the programme to indicate whether sessions are suitable for people with no experience of organising / extensive experience of organising. In the past we have sometimes found that people with no experience of organising were confused by sessions that were too 'high level' and vice versa, so this year we are trying to find a way to remedy this.
*
If we proceed with your session, we’ll need some things for the programme by the end of April: bios for all involved, photos of the presenters, and a short session description, as well as any relevant social media handles.

Required
To maintain the spirit of teaching and learning as intertwined processes, we ask that you attend the full conference where possible. We discourage parachuting in and running a session!

We also want to make you aware at this stage that we ask each and every attendee to purchase a conference ticket. We will do our best to subsidise your attendance if you otherwise wouldn’t be able to attend, but we expect in the first instance for you to ask your union or organisation to cover as much of the cost of your attendance as possible.

Required
What happens next: You’ll hear by March 10th whether we plan to include your proposal in the programme. We aim to agree all the details by April 30th. Registration for the conference opens in May.
