In 2023, following the UN High-Level Meeting on UHC, Member
States have a unique opportunity to strengthen this commitment, embedding
gender-responsive health systems and recognizing SRHR as integral to UHC. Despite
progress, many forces oppose gender equality, human rights, and SRHR, which is
evident in the negotiations and in implementation. Access to sexual and
reproductive health rights is fundamental to overall well-being, yet often
overlooked. COVID-19 amplified this need, causing disruptions in family
planning and leading to unintended pregnancies. We need global frameworks based
on human rights to guide national policies, ensure gender-responsive budgeting,
and foster meaningful participation. We need implementation and accountability.
Governments must step up to ensure equitable access to healthcare.
Join us to discuss these challenges
and drive change toward a more inclusive future within UHC.
