Criteria: 1. Impact The significant difference made by an individual is one that has brought about change which resulted in improvement in gifted services in one area of a program or in a total program. Bringing about policy change, effecting significant changes in curriculum within a system, or creating a support organization are examples of initiatives that may be considered as constituting a significant change.
2. Outstanding Contributions The outstanding contributions of this individual are ones that far exceed the regular expectations of a position, duty, or office. Financial assistance does not necessarily constitute outstanding contribution, nor does service over a number of years.
Procedure: The nomination packet must include:1) Completed nomination form 2) Brief listing of service to gifted education, including positions and accomplishments3) Narrative summary, not to exceed one typed page, of specific contributions that mark this individual as outstanding and as making a significant difference to gifted education4) An additional letter of support for the nomination
Recognition: The award recipient will be recognized at the annual GAGC convention. He or she will receive a complimentary registration to this year’s convention, a plaque presented at the convention, and a certificate of recognition from the GAGC President.
Nominations shall be completed online and submitted by December 15, 2017. Additional supporting documentation should be submitted via email to email@example.com by December 15, 2017.
