Field Trip Days
We can host field trips all year! Though, most field trips happen in the spring, when our youth crew helps host groups. We primarily schedule spring field trips on Thursdays and Fridays, 12:30-2:30, to fit with the youth crew schedule, starting the first week in April, through mid June. You are welcome to come a earlier than your field trip starts, or stay later, to have lunch on our play field or porch, depending on weather.
We may be able to host on alternative weekdays and times, depending on our crew's availability.
***We are hosting the GRuB Institute 3 day training May 20-22, so we are unable to host field trips those dates***
Outside of spring, with fewer staff, we have less capacity for extra large (40+) groups, but it never hurts to ask! Smaller groups we can be more flexible with. We will try to accommodate when we can.

Cost for student/child groups is a sliding scale payment of $7.00-$10.00 per participant, for a typical Farm Field Trip. This includes a check in, game, a farm tour, a farm workshop (for example: parts of a plant or compost), and farm work. Large field trips may have additional stations. All work and activities will be developmentally appropriate for the group.
A new offering is you can choose to have a workshop from our Tend, Gather, & Grow Curriculum, which emphasizes wild food and medicines. We will base curriculum on what is seasonally appropriate on the farm. This option will include some sort of value added product (like a bath sachet, a tea mix), or a short cooking demo (like chickweed pesto or rose hip jam.) Due to the added cost of materials, the price of these workshops is $10-15 per participant.
1 chaperone for every 4 students is free of charge. Additional chaperones are asked pay the participant fee. Exceptions made for participants that need one-to-one support.
Financial assistance is available to groups that the cost is a barrier for.
