Call of Interest: Marginalized Sound - Online Radio
My mission is to give underrepresented sound artists a 24/7 platform to present their work via an online radio station called Marginalized Sound. As a queer Mexican sound artist, I understand the importance of bringing together marginalized folk for networking, mentoring, and professional support. The non-profit online radio station will primarily broadcast sound art made by underrepresented folk. I will also conduct interviews with artists from around the world, broadcast live events, and produce stories outlining the history of underrepresented folk in sound art. The station may evolve with time.

This form will be taking submissions indefinitely. Underrepresented sound art folk and other professionals are encouraged to submit their interest. I will be using the data from this form to support grant applications and plan to launch the first broadcast in summer of 2020. I will be using the service Live365 to broadcast in the US, Canada, and UK. This service provides broadcast licensing for those countries so artists receive royalties.

All information collected will be kept in a password protected computer. Data will be deleted once grant applications have been submitted and decisions received. I will use the email addresses to contact collaborators pending successful funding.

Questions may be sent to J Diaz at diazsounds@gmail.com. More information on J can be found at www.diazsounds.com.
