DWAYNE McDUFFIE AWARD FOR DIVERSITY IN COMICS

The organizers of the Long Beach Comic Con, together with a select committee of judges, have once again come together for the purpose of recognizing outstanding work to promote diversity in the comic book industry, in the spirit of the pioneering creator Dwayne McDuffie.

Please note: All of the information provided will be kept confidential and be used for evaluation purposes only. The judging committee will review the submissions and select the nominees, then the Award honoree. Among the criteria for inclusion are: Broadening the range of characters portrayed in comics, adding to the variety of creators contributing to the medium, influence on the marketplace and contributions to the advancement of women, minorities and LGBTs in comic books and pop culture.

Please complete all fields and submit each nomination form in a separate email using McDuffie Award Submission in the subject line to dmcduffieaward@gmail.com. Please attach a link or a 15mb .PDF file of the work to be considered. If one is available, please also attach a .JPG photo of the entrant to the email with the nomination form. However, please do not include any other attachments.

A session honoring the 3rd annual Dwayne McDuffie Award recipient will be held February 18, 2017, in Long Beach, CA during the Long Beach Comic Expo. The session is open to all attendees.
