The Korean Canadian Medical Mentorship Initiative (KCMMI) and the Korean Canadian Cultural Association of Metropolitan Toronto (KCCA), with the support of Galleria Supermarket, are hosting our second annual in-person Korean Medical School Information Session at 1:30PM on Saturday, August 12th, 2023 at the Korean Cultural Centre Auditorium in Toronto (1133 Leslie Street). Doors open at 1PM.
The event, run by current medical students, is designed for Korean students and their parents who have an interest in learning more about Canadian medical schools and the process of preparing to apply to them. Our goal is to reduce the information barriers that immigrant families may face due to their lack of connections and exposure to the medical field in Canada.
Part 1 is a large-group seminar; Part 2 is composed of small-group mentoring Q&A sessions with Korean-Canadian medical student volunteers. Topics include prerequisite courses, extracurricular activities, GPA, reference letters, and anything else you're curious about! Come prepared to ask us anything—we'll be happy to answer.
The seminar will be delivered in both Korean and English. Both Korean- and English-speaking mentors will be present.
Registration is $10 for students with student IDs and $30 for parents who wish to attend. All proceeds will be donated to the Korean Canadian Scholarship Foundation (KCSF), contributing to the KCMMI bursary supporting pre-medical students in financial need.
First come, first served — spots are limited and registration will close once capacity is met. Your registration will be confirmed by email once we receive your registration fee.
