This is a workshop for middle school students (entering 6-9th grade) which will be run by members of the South Eugene Robotics Team at the Eugene Science Center in Eugene.

In this workshop, we will add joystick controls to ride-on trucks, so little kids with physical disabilities can have a way to move around and more easily play with their friends. Students will learn to rewire the truck, add a joystick for control, and add a frame for support.

We have the opportunity this year to be part of a study about STEM education which is being conducted by researchers from the U of O, so we will also be asking for permission for you to be part of this study.

When: July  27th and 28th 10a.m. - 3:30 p.m. (You must be available to attend for the whole time)
Where: The Eugene Science Center, 2300 Leo Harris Pkwy, Eugene OR 97401
Cost: Free! but you need to be committed, because little kids are counting on you!
What to wear: Please wear closed-toe shoes and avoid clothing with strings that could get caught in power tools.
What to bring: Please bring your own lunch, snacks, and water. (We will have a break for lunch and for a snack)

SPACES IN THIS WORKSHOP ARE LIMITED, and will be first-come first-served based on completed registration forms. We will take a waiting list.
