Host Organization Application - September 2019
Thank you for your interest in the Net Impact Boston (NIB) Board Fellows Program! Please complete the following application on behalf of your nonprofit organization to participate. The application will take 20-30 minutes to complete.

The Board Fellows program places NIB members on nonprofit boards for one-year fellowships. Board Fellows actively participate as full-time, non-voting members of the Board of Directors and are asked to commit 10-15 hours a month to attend meetings, join committees, and work on relevant projects (all under the mentorship of a current board member).

Organizations typically develop one or more specific board-level projects for Fellows to either lead or participate in throughout the year. In the past, Fellows have assisted in marketing strategies development, program analysis, expansion/diversification opportunities, and many more.

The current cycle will place a Boston-based professional within your organization for a year-long fellowship from September 1, 2019 - August 31, 2020.

The goal of the Board Fellows Program is to find a “best fit” match of volunteer candidate experience, interest, and skills to the organization’s mission and needs. NIB strives to make high quality, mutually beneficial matches based on complementary skills, interests, and needs.

Host organization applications are evaluated based on organization mission, community impact, and ability to benefit from the Board Fellows model. We also take into consideration the nature and scope of the proposed project(s).

We require that nonprofit organizations have the following in order to be considered:

a) Minimum annual budget of $100,000
b) At least three (3) active board members

Our selection process is highly customized to your nonprofit needs. Board Fellow applicants are evaluated on work and volunteer experience, skills and expertise, education, and areas of interest. Selected fellows are asked to rank participating organizations and projects based on their level of interest, expertise, and other criteria.

Once applications have been received and reviewed, the Board Fellows Committee will select qualified candidates for your organization. After the initial ranking process has been completed, the Board Fellows Committee facilitates the matching process and works with each side to ensure a strong fit and successful partnership.
