All student matinees are at 10:30 am and include a post-performance discussion with the artists. Run times vary.

Please note that cancellations and modifications to your reservation will only be accepted before 8 days before the reserved performance date, no exceptions.

Upon reservation, an email confirmation and invoice will be sent within 3-5 business days.

Due to the emergence of covid-19, GALA student matinees have reduced seating to 60 seats per show to allow for proper social distancing, as well as extra safety measures outlined in our revised policies and procedures, which can be found on our website.

El Perro del hortelano (The Dog in the Manger) by Lope de Vega
The “Shakespeare of Spain” brings us this Spanish Golden Age classic about the complications of class conflict in 16th century Naples. Ages 12 and up.
This will be a streamed production that will be offered for your virtual learning convenience. Pre-show workshops and post-show discussions with teaching artists will be included in the streaming package. More information coming soon. If interested, please email education@galatheatre.org

Flamenco Festival
Half-history lesson, half-flamenco performance, this show features the best flamenco musicians, dancers, singers, and performers as they explain the vocabulary and terminology of the art of flamenco. All ages.

A play by Caridad Svich based on the novel by Mario Vargas Llosa
18-year-old aspiring writer dives headfirst into the world of radio soap operas in 1950s Lima, Peru in this screwball comedy. Ages 12 and up.

Rigoberta, ¿dónde estás? A Journey through Guatemala
Written and Directed by Cornelia Cody
As 10-year old Pilar travels to Guatemala City in search of her idol Rigoberta Menchú, villagers along the way suggest questions she should ask the Nobel Peace Prize winner. This is a journey of self-discovery filled with stories, song and dance. Ages 4-10.

Winner of the 2012 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, the play follows Elliot, a marine who served in Iraq, coming to terms with being back home and with the history of his family. Ages 12 and up.
