Competition for this course is high and so anyone applying must be happy to commit to attending each session in this 25 week course (September-May). Please note that students completing a Duke of Edinburgh Award which involves expeditions on Saturdays or other commitments should not apply for NADSC during that year. NADSC is an excellent way of fulfilling the Skills requirement of D of E but due to competition for places, students must be available to attend for the whole year.
Students will experience a range of art, design and media disciplines and develop entrepreneurial skills by designing and making items for sale. Students will be rewarded with two London exhibitions (including free travel), a masterclass with a UK designer or artist, and artwork in national exhibitions as part of this exciting national initiative which currently extends to over 50 clubs around the UK.
As there is much demand for free places on this course, we wish to ensure that the most committed and dedicated students benefit from a place. We are asking for your support to provide a reference. You will be an Art/Design/Textiles etc school teacher, a youth worker or other professional who is able to comment on the young person’s commitment, creativity and or entrepreneurial ability and potential.
References should be completed by 6pm Friday 15 September 2017.
