Registration for a round table on 12 September 2024

This registration form should be filled out to register for a round table to be held on 12th September 2024 from 13 pm EET to 16 pm EET on the topic of whether a new harmonized approach for EU family mediation is needed. You are receiving this due to your professional experience in the field of mediation that exceeds 5 years and given your professional contributions in the field. Your active participation and sharing your professional knowledge and experience shall be highly appreciated during the event.

The main topics of discussion during the round table shall be:
  1. What competencies professional family mediators should meet? 
  2. Should there be any special qualification / training requirements applied for family mediators?
  3. Is a Unified EU family mediators’ registry necessary? What pros and cons you can list?
  4. How the emerging trend for mandatory mediation affects cross-border conflicts?
  5. What works well in court-mandated or categorical family mediations? What are the challenges for mandatory family mediations?
  6. Free movement of mediators between EU member states entering different mandatory models?
  7. Child participation in mediation – is there a need for a single methodology on the manner through which children shall be involved in mediation?
  8. Is there a need for unified assessment criteria for mediation referral in case of domestic violence?
  9. Is there a need for specific training requirements for mediators handling domestic violence cases?
The language of the event shall be English and the discussion shall be facilitated by Dr. Yuliya Radanova, post-doctor fellow.

This round table is financed under the research project "Mediation in family cases across the European Union. Is a new harmonized approach to Europe’s policy in solving family conflicts needed?“ (Research Council of Lithuania "Postdoctoral Internships", Project Number  P-PD-22-169).

- in certain cases, you are allowed to have my personal data destroyed (the right to "be forgotten");

- Depersonalized data may be used in future research and may be shared with other researchers (e.g. in online databases);
