Special Education After High School
Special Education is clearly defined by the IDEA law for students ages 3-22… but what happens after high school for our kids that want to continue their education? Today, more and more colleges and universities are expanding their supports for learners with disabilities! Come hear Dr. Lisa Audet and a panel of Kent State University students with disabilities speak about the Autism Spectrum Disorder initiatives happening at KSU. Dr. Audet is on the faculty at Kent State where she serves as Provost Faculty Associate. Her research and teaching focus on the needs of individuals with ASD and she has pioneered numerous initiatives at KSU for degree-seeking students with ASD. She has published and presented internationally and OPEN is very excited to share her expertise, perspective, and optimism with you! Older students are welcome to attend this presentation with their parents.
