The Governor's Arts Awards are open to any individual, group, organization, business and community that has made a significant contribution to, or positive impact on the growth, awareness and strengthening of the arts in Indiana or through their work have brought about significant recognition to the community and/or the state of Indiana.

Individuals nominated for a Governor's Arts Award must be current or former residents of Indiana or have spent a significant period of their life in Indiana. Organizations and businesses nominated must either have headquarters or operations in Indiana.
