Indigenous History Month in Edmonton
Submit your Indigenous-focused or Indigenous-led event to the City of Edmonton’s Indigenous Relations Office (IRO).  The IRO will create event posters and communication materials that will be promoted through our various channels (website, social media, email) - and you will be encouraged to promote the posters through your own communication networks!  By working together to promote one another’s events, we can maximize our impact. INVITE EDMONTON SCHOOLS TO YOUR EVENT
Edmonton Schools (Grades 1-12) are seeking cultural and educational field-trip opportunities for their students, as well as for their staff.  Many schools enjoy bringing their students to Indigenous Peoples Day events during the month of June, but many events are exceeding their maximum capacity as more and more schools become interested.  The Indigenous Relations Office (IRO) will be helping to connect schools and teachers with suitable events in Edmonton and area.  Due to required administrative tasks and permissions, most schools will need event information for field-trips and professional development by February 21, 2020.
Would your event be open to a school group attending?                                                         *
Suitable events will be open during daytime school hours and can accommodate at least 25 guests.  Your event  and contact information will be shared with Edmonton District Schools.  If a teacher is interested in your event, they will contact you or your organization for more details.
Would your event be a good Professional Development or Personal Enrichment Opportunity for adults?                                                         *
Edmonton Schools are seeking cultural and educational professional development opportunities for their teachers and school staff. Suitable events will be open in evening hours on weekdays or anytime on the weekend.  Your event  and contact information will be shared with Edmonton District Schools that express interest in opportunities.  Edmonton Public Schools and Edmonton Catholic Schools will also help to promote your event to their network.  If School staff are interested in your event, they will contact you or your organization for more details.
