Every four years, the Asian Pacific Islander Coalition of Washington (APIC) holds a Democracy Summit, with the goal of encouraging and promoting culturally meaningful and holistic civic engagement in our communities. Join us on Friday, September 27th, from 11 am to 2pm for our Democracy Summit, which will include a gubernatorial candidate forum, keynote speakers, and cultural performances, all in service of creating a space for our communities to collectivize around the issues that matter most to us.
We are excited to announce that candidates for Governor, Bob Ferguson and Dave Reichert, have confirmed their participation in our event and will be joining us for a conversation about their policy positions and issues impacting A&NH/PI communities.
We're also happy to have labor leader, award-winning organizer, author, and a leading voice in the women’s movement, Ai-Jen Poo, as our Keynote Speaker!
The summit is an opportunity for our culturally, linguistically, and geographically diverse A&NH/PI communities to come together and celebrate our rich cultural history and make sure our elected officials see, hear, and understand our collective power.
