Les Dames d'Escoffier Austin is a chapter of LDEI International, a philanthropic organization of women leaders in the fields of food, fine beverage, and hospitality. We are women leaders who seek to create a supportive culture in our community to achieve excellence our fields. We do this by sharing knowledge, supporting members, and providing leadership, educational opportunities, and philanthropic events for the community at large.
Each year, LDEI Austin awards scholarships to women in the food, fine beverage, and hospitality industry. Historically, this has been to a student already enrolled in a local certificate or associate's degree program in culinary arts, baking & pastry, or hospitality and restaurant management. (See below.) We have expanded the opportunity to include professionals already in the industry seeking financial assistance to pursue educational advancement. Examples include (but are not limited to) attending the TEXSOM Sommelier Conference or ChefConf, or applying to take the American Cheese Society Certified Cheese Professional Exam. Are you currently in our industry and have a dream for educational development you have yet to pursue? This is for you too! (Details below, noting that the scholarship is for the cost of the registration fee and is not applicable to travel nor accommodations.)
