St. Mark's VBS 2019: Who is My Neighbor?
Below you will find details about our upcoming Vacation Bible School and registration information for participants
Sunday July 7th - Thursday July 11th
Responding to the needs of our neighbors has always been a key vocation for the church. Martin Luther believed that service of the neighbor should be a priority for every person of faith. He wrote, "Therefore, we should be guided in all our works by this one thought alone - that we may serve and benefit others in everything that is done, having nothing before our eyes except the need and advantage of the neighbor."

Throughout the week we will be exploring the parable of "The Good Samaritan" that sets the theme of "Who is my Neighbor?" Jesus makes it clear that "neighbor" is not an abstract concept but rather a radically new relationship made possible by God's reconciling grace. To be a neighbor is to be in relationship with the people God places in our midsts, to both serve and be served by them. In "Who is My Neighbor?" our kids will explore what this means - for them and for our community - by learning about neighbors both near and far each of the days.

Our schedule for the week is as follows

Sunday July 7th - Kick off worship at 9:30am - 11:30am Join us for the first day as we explore our first days themes as part of an intergenerational worship experience.
