D-League - Expression of Interest (Athlete)
Basketball NSW (BNSW) is once again hosting D-League in 2020. The aim of D-League is to identify talented players and coaches within NSW and assist in their development by having them play and coach against each other in a Tournament style competition.

Expressions of Interest (EOI) to participate in D-League are open to any athlete who is currently a registered member of BNSW. Athletes are NOT required to be nominated by their coach/Association.

Age Groups
BNSW are looking for athletes in the following age groups for the 2020 tournament:
• U14 Bottom Age Boys and Girls (2008) - will compete in the U14 Competition
• U14 Top Age Boys and Girls (2007) - will compete in the U15 Competition
• U16 Bottom Age Boys and Girls (2006) - will compete in the U16 Competition
• U16 Top Age Boys and Girls (2005) - will compete in the U18 Competition
• U18 Bottom Age Boys and Girls (2004) - will compete in the U18 Competition

Selection Criteria
To be selected for D-League, athletes must display elements of the following:
- Outstanding potential to compete at a higher level;
- Athletic ability e.g. speed, height, quick hands and strength;
- Demonstrated attitude to become an exceptional basketball player;
- Be highly receptive to coaching

Selection Process for Athletes
Once EOI’s have closed, the BNSW High-Performance Department in consultation with Coaching Directors (Association Level) and High-Performance Program Network Coaches will select athletes in each age group/gender to train and compete over three consecutive Sundays.
Subjectivity is an unavoidable element of selection.

Proposed Venues/Dates
The three-week tournament will be played at Penrith Valley Regional Sports Centre and Hills Basketball Stadium, commencing at approximately 8:00am and finishing no later than 5:00pm.

The proposed dates are as follows:
25 October – Penrith Valley Regional Sports Centre
1 November – Penrith Valley Regional Sports Centre
8 November – Hills Basketball Stadium

Cost
The cost to participate in D-League is $260. This covers D-League uniform, court hire and game fees.

- Completing an EOI form does not guarantee you a position in D-League
- Selected athletes will be contacted via email (parent/guardian) once names and numbers are finalised
