Local Guidelines
The People's Market seeks to give priority to local farmers, producers, growers, harvesters, and gatherers. We also realize we live in a harsh climate and want to allow people from other climates to round out our market.
"Local" is defined as grown within 200 miles
Non-local farmers will be able to sell produce, which is not available through local farmers. If a local farmer is selling an item a non-local farmer wants to sell, the non-local farmer must wait until the local farmer is sold out.
Farmers may sell items which were:
1. Grown by them.
2. Purchased from another farmer and clearly marked as so. These items must be purchased directly from another farmer, not a produce house or any other wholesale business.
3. The Market Director reserves the right to ask a vendor to remove a product if it is deemed inappropriate for the market
Any farmer vending at the People's Market must be able to provide documentation to support the origin of produce and gives the Market Guides permission for surprise inspection of farm and/or the farm the produce was purchased from. Failure to provide an inspection will result in no future attendance at markets and no refund of market fees.
