KCBS Backyard Series Contest - $175 (Chicken & Ribs) Payment will be due upon acceptance. Each space is 20x20 and does NOT include power, water, or an option for more space.

You may set up on Thursday after 4 p.m. or Friday morning. Meat inspection will be Friday starting at 9:00 a.m. with Master Series progressing to Backyard and as needed basis. To align with KCBS Master Series turn-in times, the first turn in is Saturday at 12:00 p.m. for chicken, second turn in is at 12:30 p.m. for ribs.  Please contact bbq@twincountychamber.com or (276) 236-2184 with any questions.

Due to the growth of the competition and our limitations with Downtown Galax, we are unable to provide power, water, and extra space to Backyard Competitors. Please, only trailers if they are less than 20 ft. If you need these amenities, please register for the Master Series.

People's Choice Pulled Pork Competition. Must turn in a full pan of cooked pork by Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Entry is FREE. Please do not sign up if there is any chance you may not participate.

Smoke on the Mountain (SOM) and Twin County Chamber of Commerce (TCCC), including its officers, sponsors and/or associates, and the contestants, parents, and/or legal representatives, agree that SOM and TCCC will in no case be responsible for any loss, damage or injury, regardless of how much loss, damage or injury is occasioned, and indemnify and save harmless SOM and TCCC from any and all claims, suits and/or judgments, including the cost for defense of and such claim and/or suit by SOM and TCCC brought by anyone as a result of any loss, damage or injury to any person or property, occasioned by any action or inaction of contestant, either solely or in conjunction with SOM and TCCC. Further, I grant full permission to SOM and TCCC and/or agents authorized by them, to use any photographs, videotapes, motion pictures, recordings or any other record of the event for any legitimate purpose. Application is no guarantee of acceptance in the contest. SOM reserves the right to reject any application. Teams will be notified of acceptance email within 7 business days of receipt of application. 50% refund on cancellations after 7/1/2025 up to the competition date.  Any refund requests hereafter will be handled on a case-by-case basis by the event organizers.  I agree to abide by all the Rules and Regulations for the 20th Annual Smoke on the Mountain Barbecue Championship. *
