A Secretaria de Relações Internacionais (SINTER) realiza a cada semestre o evento de Recepção à Comunidade Internacional da UFSC, visando a integração dos estudantes internacionais ao ambiente universitário da UFSC.
A participação no evento é obrigatória para todos os estudantes de intercâmbio dos Programas Incoming e Escala Estudiantes de Grado da Associação de Universidades Grupo Montevideo (AUGM), exceto aqueles que se inscreveram em cursos de outros campi (Araranguá, Curitibanos, Joinville e Blumenau), e para os estudantes do Programa Estudantes Convênio de Graduação (PEC-G) do governo federal.
No período da manhã acontecerá a Cerimônia de Boas-Vindas (com palavra do Reitor e apresentação da SINTER e da UFSC), café de integração com apresentações culturais, e orientações específicas para os estudantes de intercâmbio (Programas Incoming e AUGM), estudantes PEC-G, e estudantes internacionais regulares.
No período da tarde ocorrerão atividades de integração (oficinas e tour).

Every semester, the Office of International Relations (SINTER) organizes a welcome event for the UFSC International Community to help new international students integrate into university life.
Participation is mandatory for all students in the UFSC Incoming Student Exchange Program and the AUGM Escala Estudiantes de Grado Program, except those enrolled in other campi (Araranguá, Curitibanos, Joinville and Blumenau), and for students in the Programa Estudantes-Convênio de Graduação (PEC-G).
In the morning, all students are invited to a Welcome Ceremony, which will include a speech by the University Rector and a presentation about SINTER and UFSC, followed by a welcome coffee with cultural performances. Afterwards, specific orientation sessions will be held for exchange students (Incoming and AUGM programs), PEC-G students, and international degree-seeking students.
In the afternoon, students can take part in integration activities, including cultural workshops and guided tours.
