2019 Writer in the Window Sign-Up
Welcome to Appletree Books' Fourth Annual Writer in the Window event sign-up!

In celebration of National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) in November, we invite you, Cleveland-area writers of all ages and all genres (you need not be writing a novel), to spend some time writing in our front windows.

Sign up below to be a Writer in the Window at Appletree this coming November 2019, and our NaNoWriMo coordinator (Jane Rothstein) will get back to you as soon as she can.

Please note the following:

1) Writers under age 12 must be accompanied by an adult. The writer's parent or guardian should complete this form, provide contact information, and indicate who will attend with the writer.

2) If you are in a writing group and want to schedule a time for all of you to come write in at Appletree, let us know below. We would love to host you!

3) Poets! Appletree is sponsoring a poetry contest again this year for our Writers in the Window. See below for more information.

4) Jane tries her darnedest to respond to sign-ups within a day, but that is not always possible. Please be patient! If it is already November, and you absolutely, positutely, supercalifragilistically must write today (or tomorrow), and you just can't wait, please feel free to just drop in. We can't guarantee a spot in the window for drop-ins, but we will have spots where you can write.

5) We will not share your personal information outside of the event.

6) Questions? Comments? Appletree's NaNoWriMo Coordinator, Jane, can be reached at: jane@appletree-books.com.

Are you part of a writing group? Would you be interested in scheduling a time for your group to write together at our community table?
Your answer
If you are registering for a writer under age 12, please let us know the name of the parent or guardian we should communicate with and who will be coming to the store with the writer.
Your answer
The front windows to be used are, unfortunately, not handicapped accessible. Getting into the windows requires a significant step up; for help we can offer a step stool. We may, however, be able to make alternative arrangements, seating you at our community table. Questions? Please let us know.
Do you need accommodation for accessing our windows? *

Poetry Contest for Writers in the Window
For a second year, Appletree is pleased to host a poetry contest! The contest is open to ONLY to writers who (1) sign up to be Writers in the Window at Appletree Books in November and (2) show up to write in the window! You do not need to be a published poet, and poetry need not be your primary mode of writing. Entries should be written during and completed by the end of November. We encourage contestants to write at least some of their entries during their writing time slot(s). You will receive further information by email as soon as it's available!

We will not be running a student writing contest in 2019, but hope to bring it back in 2020. Thank you for your interest!
