FAQs
What do we mean by community building?
Community Building is the use of asset-based, relationship-driven approaches to create inside-out change. We believe all neighborhoods have strengths and all people have gifts. When these are connected through relationships, neighbors can create sustained, lasting change together.

Who is this community for?
Our members come from various sectors including neighborhood associations, local government, nonprofits, Congregations, and foundations. You'll get the most out of this community if you're in a long-term volunteer role or are on staff at an organization.

Individuals who are wanting support in how to meet their neighbors or getting started should check out the Weaving Us online community or Neighborhood Village Project cohort

Who is a good fit for the Community Building Hub?
You would be a great fit for the Hub if you:
  1. Are a leader working directly in a neighborhood (or on a local level) or supporting work in neighborhoods
  2. Have knowledge and experience with asset-based community development (ABCD) or relationship-driven practices (NOTE: you don't have to be an expert! But at least a few months experience is essential)
  3. Are looking to strengthen your approach through access to resources, a network of other professionals, and learning opportunities
