Victoria University is inviting students to participate in a practical workshop series designed to help you build confidence in managing your finances and navigating life in Australia.
Whether you're a first-year student, an international student, or simply want to learn more about budgeting, banking, tax, employment, and the support services available at VU, these workshops are for you.
The workshops will provide practical information, opportunities to ask questions, and a chance to connect with other students and university support staff.
Workshop 1 – Starting Life in Australia

Workshop 2 – Working in Australia.

  • Introduction to Australian taxation
  • Tax returns & Free Tax Help at VU
  • Superannuation
  • Employment rights & responsibilities
  • CV checks, job search & employability support
  • Financial wellbeing and available support services
  • Common mistakes made by new students   
  • Supports available to students from VU  (CounsellingDisability SupportAdvocacyWelfare).  
  • Accommodation support

All Victoria University students are welcome.First-year students,International students,Students who are new to Australiaand and any student wanting to improve their financial knowledge and practical life skills
