WILD 2019 Student Registration Form

When: Friday evening to Sunday 1:00 p.m., November 1-3, 2019
Check-in time: 5:00 P.M. on Friday
Who: 110 students of French, German, & Spanish
Where: The Alabama 4-H Center, 892 4-H Road, Columbiana, AL 35051
Cost: $ 110.00 dollars <includes lodging and supplies, and offsets the cost of all meals>
Purpose: These three days will give high school students of French, German, and Spanish the opportunity to practice their new languages in a total immersion setting. Students and teachers will speak only the target language throughout the weekend while they engage in educational and enriching workshops that include academics, dance, crafts, singing, and other interactive activities.
Lodging: Dormitories (students provide own linens, pillows and towels)
Meals: Friday supper through Sunday breakfast is included.
Transportation: Students must provide their own transportation to and from the Alabama 4H Center.
Applicants: The immersion weekend is open to any enrolled high school student who has completed a full course of French 1, German 1,or Spanish 1 and who is in the 10th, 11th, or 12th grade in the fall of 2019. Priority is given to upper level students ~ levels V/AP, IV, III, and II (in that order).
The following is a registration form for WILD 2019!
Once the online application form and all required documents are received, your application will be reviewed by the W.I.L.D. directors. You will be notified of your status via email by October 4th. If you are accepted, you will be sent instructions on how to pay the W.I.L.D. registration fee, due not later than October 18th, 2019.
Cancellation Policy: If payment has not been received by Oct. 18, you/your student will be removed from the program. Any cancellation by the student after Oct. 18, will not be refunded.
Other information: Please note that cell phones are not allowed during the program and will be turned in with the W.I.L.D. directors at the beginning of the weekend. Parents can contact the directors during the weekend for news on their student.
Also, either use of an unauthorized mobile device or use of English may be grounds from removal from the program, at which point the student will be responsible to arrange their transportation back home.
