Earth Empathy Circle: December 8

Fill out this form to register for the Earth Empathy Circle video meeting on Sunday, December 8, 2019 (10:00 am - 11:30 am ET), facilitated by Dian Killian, Ph.D.

Instead of asking for a registration fee*, we invite you to make a $25 - $100 (or an amount of your choice) donation to the Milagro Project to help protect the critically endangered vaquita porpoise and the entire Sea of Cortez habitat (no one will be turned away for lack of funds).

Instructions for joining the video meeting will be provided once you click "Submit" at the end of the form.

(*Both the facilitator, Dian Killian, and the sponsor, the NVC Academy, are donating their time)

B. DONATION
.
If you make a donation, it will support the Sea Shepherds' Milagro project to protect the critically endangered vaquita and the entire Sea of Cortez habitat.

The Sea of Cortez is a World Heritage site and called by scientists the "aquarium of the world," given the biodiversity of this small habitat, just south of Baja California. Home to many different species, it is the only place in the world where the vaquita porpoise lives.

Highly unique as the world's smallest sea mammal and the only warm-water dolphin or porpoise, the vaquita -- also known as the "little cow of the sea" -- is facing imminent extinction as a result of illegal gill nets (a mile long and many of them "ghost" nets no longer in use), that are also killing other protected wildlife, including whales and sea turtles.

The Milagro project (with the support of the Mexican navy) removes the illegal gill nets and recycles the nets into clothing. Scientists say that if it were not for the Milagro project that the vaquita would already be extinct. The fishing season starts in November. Sending support now to the Milagro project will make a crucial difference in supporting the boats (of volunteer staff) in the Sea of Cortez protecting all the species that live there and making a critical difference in protecting and saving the vaquita porpoise.

2. If you made a donation directly to the Milagro Project, what was the amount of the donation?
Only fill this out if you chose option 'b' in the previous question ("make a donation directly to the Milagro Project"). Again, this is to help us track our impact.
