Nuns Against Gun Violence is a coalition of Catholic Sisters and their allies that affirms the value of human life through prayer, education, and advocacy for common sense, evidence-based, gun violence prevention.

As Catholics, our faith calls us to protect life. In response to the gun violence epidemic, we invite you to participate in a Lenten Fast to End Gun Violence. This fast is both a prayer to God and a public appeal for action. We hope our coalition members and like-minded individuals will participate. Please share this invitation and complete this form to show your commitment.

I will offer up the following fast this Lent. *

We will join our hearts, minds, and bodies in a sacrifice—according to our capability—as an expression of love, in a spirit of generosity, willingly abstaining from food and drink or undertaking other meaningful sacrifices as we put forth our united call for people to lay down their guns and enact gun violence prevention legislation.

My two smaller meals will not equal the size of my main meal.

I will not eat meat during Lent.

I will abstain from food one day a week during Lent.
