In 2018, The National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) published their Consensus Study Report on Sexual Harassment of Women: Climate, Culture, and Consequences in Academic Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. This document reports on the findings of the consensus report and provides specific recommendations for how academic institutions can improve climate and prevent harassment. Dr. Benya served as Director of this study.
At this event, Dr. Benya will address members of the CSE community at all levels (undergraduate students, graduate students, postdocs, support staff, P&A employees, and faculty). Following an expert summary and an update on the NASEM Report, attendees will participate through a Q&A focused on how we, the CSE community, are and should be addressing sexual harassment in the college.
This event is Sponsored by the CSE Diversity and Inclusion Alliance and the Chemistry D&I Committee. Dr. Benya’s visit is sponsored by the Center for Bioethics.
