The Query / Filter Sprint - OGC API + STAC
Continuing on the momentum of the OGC API hackathon and the SpatioTemporal Asset Catalog (STAC) sprints, in early November we will gather to push forward on geospatial interoperability. The focus on the sprint is on the Query and Filter OGC API 'building blocks', as STAC is based on OGC API - Features (formerly WFS 3) and both groups see those as their next major priorities, so we decided to join forces. The sprint will likely cover a wider range of topics, but the goal is to clearly advance those core building blocks, build related software, and share knowledge.
The sprint will take place November 5-7 in Arlington, VA, right near Washington DC, at the offices of IQT CosmiQ Works, who is the hosting sponsor. For those who can not make it in person, as space is limited, we will be doing extensive remote integration, streaming all major sessions and using online collaboration in smaller groups.
The venue holds 30 people, and there is some chance we will exceed capacity, so please fill out the application below so we can select the right group. We will aim to confirm attendance by early October at the latest (and if you need an answer sooner to book travel just get in touch). If you have not been to a STAC sprint or OGC event before you are strongly encouraged to apply, as our criteria is not simply to have the most experienced people in person. One main aim is to grow the community, welcoming a diversity of participants who are interested in helping advance geospatial interoperability. At the last sprint we did a track that was focused on new people, and we aim to continue and improve on it.
