About

Our annual conference features inspiring community leaders working at the intersection of food, health, social justice, and planetary well-being.

Our Why

The idea of food as medicine resonates with many in health care and food production. Nutrition is increasingly integrated into health professional training, patient care, and discussions around farming, fishing, ranching, and other food systems. However, people across many communities who want to eat well cannot access healthy or even enough food. Many of those producing and providing our food and health care navigate a multitude of inequities. Join us in creating a more equitable and inclusive food as medicine movement!

Agriculture broadly defined for a diversity of foodways to include farmers, seed savers, gardeners, fishers, foragers, ranchers, subsistence hunters, wildcrafters, pastoralists, forest producers, and more.

Medicine broadly defined for a diversity of healthways to include all those involved in health and healing.

We invite proposals from individuals and organizations working across diverse fields, including farmers, seed savers, gardeners, foragers, healthcare providers, activists, healers, hospitals, community health centers, educators, schools, academic institutions, students, cooks, researchers, consumers, policy advocates, nonprofits, community leaders, and others who are dedicated to addressing food justice issues.

We encourage you to share your successes, challenges, research, and stories that inspire action and promote continuous learning. We are especially interested in presentations that go beyond traditional slides to highlight your work in action—whether it’s in the kitchen, on the farm, in the garden, at health centers, food pantries, farmers' markets, or other community spaces.

Presenter Guidelines

Each presentation will be a 45-minute session.

In appreciation, all conference presenters receive a complimentary conference registration, a one-year Food as Medicine Global membership, and a conference sponsorship for your affiliated organization.
