What the Grant Supports
• Hardship grants for individuals who have been employed in a paid role in the UK social care sector and are involved in or support the provision of care.
• Grants are one-off payments towards emergency essential support or support in crisis
• Our typical grant for daily living costs is £250
• Our maximum grant is £500
Before you begin this application please ensure that you have meet the following:
1. Meet the eligibility requirements on the Guidance for Applicants prior to applying

2. Are currently experiencing at least one of the five circumstanced listed in the Guidance for Applicants
3. Have the relevant supporting documents
4. Recently checked your entitlement to all means tested benefits
5. It has been one year since receiving any previous crisis grants from The Care Workers' Charity and you are experiencing another crisis.
Please note that all applications must be supported by the following documents:
1. Proof of your employment history in the care sector – This can be any of the following: a P60 form, a recent payslip, a P45 form, a confirmation letter from your employer stating your period of employment
2. A letter of support – This should be a letter supporting your application from a professional who can explain the recent change in circumstance and what type of impact the grant would make. The letter should be from your work manager, your housing support worker, GP, debt advisor, or an agency such as the Citizen’s Advice Bureau
3. Medical confirmation of illness/injury (if applicable)
4. A quote for the repair costs or a website link to the essential items requested (if applicable) from a reputable supplier such as Argos or B&Q
After submitting the application:
After the application form has been completed, please send the supporting documents to grants@thecareworkerscharity.org.uk. Please put your full name as the email's subject.

If you do not use email, please post your supporting documents to our office: The Care Workers Charity (Grants Team), The Sanctuary, Suite 6-8, 23 Oakhill Grove, Surbiton, KT6 6DU. We will send you a letter to confirm receipt.

We cannot consider an application until we receive all your supporting documents. Once we have received all of the supporting documents, it takes us around 10 working days to process a request for a grant. After which time, we will be in touch with an outcome.
