Food Sovereignty Across Cultures and Communities Workshop @ SUNY ESF

Time: Friday, October 17th 10:00am - 12:00 p.m.

Location: SUNY ESF's 24 Marshall Hall

Join growers, scholars, and storytellers—Mike Atkins (MLK Elementary Helping Hands Garden & Hillbrook Community Garden) and Monu Chhetri (Deaf New Americans Advocacy, Inc. & Asha Laaya Farm), for a workshop exploring food sovereignty through the land, labor, and storytelling. Participants will visit community gardens and local farms, engaging directly with food justice organizers featured in our new Environmental Storytelling Guide on Food Sovereignty. Through these experiences, we'll reflect on how storytelling can seed more just and sustainable food systems across our city and region.

While this event is open to the public, space is limited. Please register soon and include any dietary and accessibility accommodation requests.

This event is part of Environmental Storytelling CNY, a collaboration between Syracuse University's Engaged Humanities Network and SUNY ESF's Writing, Rhetoric and Communications Program.
