Adult and current Youth Climate Leaders, volunteer here to help run this training. Students new to our Youth Climate Training program register at: http://bit.ly/CCR-Apr13-2019-Reg-Students.
Very Important: Please read this page for details, along with the follow-up email you will be receiving shortly before the Academy.
All students in grades 4-12 (and the homeschool equivalents) are welcome to all youth climate trainings--you do not need to have any connection to the host.
YAE trainings are always FREE to students in 4th - 12th grades and include a morning snack and lunch. This one will include small graduation gifts as well. At a Climate Training, students learn about Climate Change from other students through engaging in a slide presentation and discussions, working on their ability to speak with knowledge and authority about Climate Change, and practicing sharing that presentation with other students and adults. We will also be using a game to learn about Climate Justice, brainstorming techniques to enable students to take action, and engaging in a short arts-based activity, another way to "speak out". The Climate Training experience centers on developing students' knowledge and ability to present this information to others—encouraging themselves and others to act on Climate Change.
Invite the children you know and make sure they register on time!

There are many ways volunteers can help; no special knowledge is required to help, though please share with us any special skills you could contribute to the training. We can especially use the skills of teachers and retired teachers since they help the group work with students to go smoothly. Please email Pam at: vergun @alumni.stanford.edu with any questions.
