This year's festival will be on Saturday, April 8 from 10:30 am to 6:00 pm at the Capitol Riverfront neighborhood of southwest DC.
Be part of the largest one-day celebration of Japanese culture in the country! Last year, Sakura Matsuri attracted over 25,000 people interested in Japan and Japanese culture. The Sakura Matsuri helps the Japan-America Society of Washington DC (JASWDC) with our mission of promoting the friendship between Japanese and Americans. JASWDC is a non-profit membership organization that offers language & cultural classes to Americans and Japanese, networking opportunities and a place for Americans to better understand Japanese culture. Sakura Matsuri is our largest outreach program and allows JASWDC to keep our doors open and offer a wide variety of programs all year round. To find out more about JASWDC programs, please visit our website - www.jaswdc.org.
Benefits for volunteers include: a Matsuri volunteer T-shirt, 2 drink tickets and a snack ticket for half-day volunteers, and for All-day volunteers these benefits plus a sandwich.
You must be 15 years of age or older to volunteer.
