2019 AED Personal Statement Workshop
UTD Alpha Epsilon Delta, a pre-health honor society, is excited to host a Personal Statement Workshop by the award-winning author Wendy S. Harpham, MD. All proceeds will benefit the Lymphoma Research Foundation.
An outstanding personal statement can help you win scholarships and internships, as well as get accepted to medical school. Physician-author Wendy S. Harpham will offer valuable insights and practical tips to start with a blank screen and end up with the best essay for your application.
Dr. Harpham is a best-selling author whose specialty is the short essay. Her popular column in Oncology Times, View from the Other Side of the Stethoscope, has won numerous national awards.
Dr. Harpham, an adjunct professor at UTD, founded Wendy’s Eagles to raise money for the Lymphoma Research Foundation. Your entry donation to attend will further Dr. Harpham’s efforts to help patients benefit from progress in cancer treatment the way she did. In 1990, Dr. Harpham was a practicing internist with three children under six years old when diagnosed with lymphoma. It took 9 courses of treatment over 17 years (including three clinical trials) to achieve her current remission. She has devoted herself to helping patients get good care and live as fully as possible.
