Fiwygin is pronounced like "fusion" and is a concept/group in response to and in solidarity with all the people who have ever felt like they didn't belong or fit in outdoors.

Fiwygin Outdoors strives to eliminate the fears and barriers that folks have to getting outside, by making it fun, accessible, and welcoming to all people!

Help us make Fiywgin Outdoors even better! Your participation will help us ensure we are meeting the needs of the community. Regardless of if you have or if you have not attended a Fiwygin Outdoors event, we encourage you to provide your input. All survey questions are optional and your answers will be anonymous. We encourage you to sign up for our newsletter/email list at ashamarie.com/fiwyginoutdoors

Required

Are there any outdoor activities that you haven't done (yet), that you want to do? If so, what are they?

Check all the reasons you've ever not done an outdoor activity.

Too Expensive

No experience

No equipment

No one to go with

No one to teach me how to do it

Didn't want to be the only POC there

Didn't feel it would be a welcoming space

Wasn't the right target demographic (i.e. it was for families, but I'm single/have no kids).

Not enough time (i'm too busy)

Was afraid (of failure, getting hurt, etc)

It sounded intimidating - didn't think I could keep up.

I'm out of shape, and everyone who does this activity appears to be in shape.

Where would you like Fiwygin Outdoors to take place?

Right now, Fiwygin Outdoors has taken place at/near Theodore Wirth park because it has running/biking trails, as well as water trails, which allows for multiple sport options. We are open to having it rotate locations, but need suggestions of where you'd like to go.

Theodore Wirth Park (because there's so many different activities you can do there)

Rotating around the twin cities (please suggest other parks/locations in the other box)

Other:

Would you like the format of Fiwygin Outdoors to be?

A bunch of activities, depending on who shows up/brings equipment (i.e. how it is now).

One organized activity each month (i.e. we'd go canoeing, hiking, running, or biking, for example).

An organized activity, with the option of doing something else (i.e. the activity was snowshoeing, but if I would rather, I could hang back and build a snowperson, sip hot chocolate, or go skiiing instead, even though the main activity was snowshoeing).

We are considering a late summer group camping trip. Would you be interested in attending?

Yes! And I have my own gear.

Yes! I will need to borrow some gear (sleeping bag/sleeping pad, etc...)

Camp, no. Cabin with running water and electricity, yes!

I'd prefer a day hike or a day trip only. I'd like to sleep at home.
