Chat and Chew
What is Chat ‘n Chew?

Chat ‘n Chew is a program that gives children the chance to listen to adults read books and discuss these great reads with their friends. Parents volunteer twice a month to read to a small group of children. Each Chat ‘n Chew group will meet during lunch and while the children eat, their parent sponsor will read one or two picture books. After they read each book, the children will discuss the book. The books can be brought in from home, checked out from the public library, or borrowed from Sunflower’s media center.

Who can participate?

Chat ‘n Chew is a program for 1st and 2nd graders (3rd and 4th graders have the chance to participate in Novel Navigators). Students and parents need to sign the form below and return it to Mrs. Rains in the LIT Lab by Friday, February 8th. Chat ‘n Chew groups will be formed and announced the week of February 11th and will begin meeting the 1st week in March.
