Context-aware or "ambient" AI systems are designed to operate quietly in the background, monitoring digital behavior, offering smart suggestions, and adapting to your needs with minimal interruption.

This survey explores how individuals think about and interact with these AI tools. Your responses will help inform future design recommendations for creating more trustworthy and user-aligned AI systems.

We estimate that this survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete.

The survey is open to anyone 18 years or older. All responses are anonymous unless you express interest in being an interview participant in the very end of the survey. By participating, you are consenting to be a research participant. Your participation is voluntary, and you may withdraw or request removal of your data at any time. All responses will remain confidential and securely stored. This study has been reviewed and approved by the University of Washington’s IRB.
