Join Peer Health Exchange!
Thank you for your interest in Peer Health Exchange! PHE is a national non-profit organization that empowers young people with the knowledge, skills, and resources to make healthy decisions. We do this by training college students to facilitate a trauma-informed, skills-based health curriculum in high schools that lack comprehensive health education. If accepted into this position, you'll join thousands of other college students around the country working to advance health equity and improve health outcomes for young people!
PHE health educators will spend 3-4 hours per week to prepare, learn, and facilitate workshops for young people directly in local HS classrooms. Educators will teach in pairs, and work with the same classroom of HS students on a week to week basis for part of the academic year. Training includes a mandatory 3-hr orientation and 8-hr retreat, as well as on-going weekly meetings facilitated by PHE to learn and practice skills of effective facilitation.
As a health educator, you can look forward to providing needed services to your local community, developing strong facilitation and public speaking skills, gaining first-hand classroom experience, helping to build a lasting campus organization, and more. To learn more, look us up at:
