Teaching Vonnegut 2020 Application
We are so thrilled that you're interested in one of our most beloved programs at the Kurt Vonnegut Museum and Library: Teaching Vonnegut! We are also excited to be taking the workshop to the University of Southern California campus.

If you wish to attend (and you meet the qualifications), we would love to have you join us! In order to enhance the experience for our attendees, registration is limited to the first 30 people.

To apply, please complete the following questionnaire. The applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Our goal is to help teachers learn more about Vonnegut's life and work so that they can answer student questions and more effectively teach Vonnegut material.

Kurt Vonnegut Museum and Library Director of Education, Max Goller, will bring together leading Vonnegut scholars, guaranteeing a fruitful experience for all who attend.

Workshop sessions will be conducted from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m P.S.T. beginning Wednesday, July 15 and continuing through Friday, July 17. There also will be optional (but exceptionally fun!) after-hours social events.

This program is free to teachers, but the cost for us to operate it is approximately $500 per attendee. It would be our pleasure to assist you in securing a teacher grant to help offset your travel costs and our presentation expenses. Feel free to email max.goller@vonnegutlibrary.org for grant ideas or help with writing any grant you might identify on your own. As an incentive, if you or your school pitch in $100 or more to support the program, not only would you be giving back to this excellent program, but you will also become a full-fledged member of the Kurt Vonnegut Museum and Library at the "Kurt's Karass" level. Those gifts can be paid in small amounts each month if that works better for you. Go to https://www.vonnegutlibrary.org/support/make-a-donation for more information, to make a donation, or to give to your school for consideration. We appreciate the support. All gifts are tax-deductible.

We are grateful to Indiana Arts Commission for the portion of support that they provide. If you are unable to make a gift to us at this time, we still welcome you to apply and participate in the full experience.
