More information about each session:

Backwoods Bass - Asphodel-Norwood is at the doorsteps to some of Ontario's best bass fishing. Largemouth and smallmouth season is coming up. Backwoods Bass is a session for all nature enthusiasts, presented by a local conservation professional who loves to talk about prime bass habitat, lake ecology, bass biology, bass fishing techniques and all the memorable bass-times that are only a cast away from the Asphodel-Norwood Public Library. Meet new people and share old fishing tales. Set the hook on the upcoming bass fishing season with a fun and engaging evening in the company of local fishing friends.

Habitat Heroes - Hey, how's your habitat? It's a great conversation starter for Norwood residents who value healthy landscapes and waters, local fish and wildlife and all types of outdoor recreation including wide open spaces for mental wellness. This session is for anyone who wants to give back to nature with habitat improvement advice from Watersheds Canada, a national charitable organization that inspires community involvement in local conservation projects. Fall is native plant and tree planting season, so learn about volunteer efforts you can bring to your waterfront property, your in-town backyard or rural back-forty acreage.

Call of the Wild - A grunt, a rattle, and a bleat. Those are the sounds you may hear in the local deer woods. But what do they mean, and how can we connect with nature by mimicking the calls of the wild? Local hunter and professional conservationist/outdoor writer, Robert Pye, will lead this wilderness workshop that celebrates waterfowl, wild turkey and white tailed deer -- the calls they make, the habitat they need, and the traditions they provide to our community.
