Newell School District ESSER III funding survey
The Newell School District will be receiving federal funding due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Below are allowable options for our school district to spend the money. Newell School District will receive a total of $1,012,706-
According to ESSER III-20% of allocations need to be used to address learning loss which would equate to $202,541.
The rest of the allocation needs to fit certain guidelines-$810,165. Funding needs to be used by December of 2024.

Summer school program
Credit recovery for high school students
Social-emotional curriculum for all students
Hiring counselor for all students
Professional development for staff-curriculum map new curriculum
Pay for college, university, and technical school application fees for low-income students

Replacing tiling in lower elementary making it
Having tiling in the hallways of lower elementary, upper elementary, middle school, and Agricultural/science building
Renovating bathrooms in lower elementary and abating asbestos (currently there are safe levels of asbestos in all building on campus)
Replacing exterior windows in lower elementary
Put addition on agricultural/science building for a welding lab
Renovate boys and girls locker rooms in the basement of Austin Auditorium
Replacing carpet in all the classrooms on campus
Purchasing new server for 2022-2023 school year
Purchasing new high school computers for 2022-2023 school year
