This is an application to the OSU Cycle program for the Autumn 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters. The Cycle program aims to foster a positive environment in the mathematics department, particularly for students who have not engaged in mathematics research before or who are passionate about continuing. Cycle is a one hour per week (5:20-6:15 PM Tuesdays in-person, asynchronous options available) course which provides students with a gateway to research in mathematics. The (one-day) conference is tentatively scheduled for the weekend of April 17/18, 2027. Attendance at the conference is
mandatory for all mentees.
Cycle is a two-semester sequence. Both semesters will be a mixture of classes focused on professional development and getting to know the community alongside the primary goal of providing an introduction to individualized research.
Note that filling out this form is not equivalent to enrolling in the course; you should enroll in addition through your advisor. Please fill it out this form as soon as or before you enroll!
